Off-grid home near Cornwall

Located near Cornwall
Ontario, on a piece of land with no electric service,
this new home was constructed to be "off grid" .
The owners Bill and Brenda built the entire home themselves, then contracted
Ottawa Solar Power to design and install a solar electric system to charge
batteries
that would be used to power their home. The home is very energy efficient, and
for the extended cloudy winter days it uses a generator for backup.
