In order to take make their new home as energy self sufficient as possible, this electrical
engineer contacted Ottawa Solar Power to design a complete renewable energy system that originally
was designed to reduce their homes reliance on fossil fuels. The system has gone through a
redesign, and now sells solar electricity back to the grid under the microFit program. The wind
turbine is connected under the net metering program.
