This custom-built residence in Carp, Ontario, was designed
by the homeowner (an engineer) to be very energy efficient.
The large south-facing windows take advantage of a low
winter sun to assist in home heating, and the awning
above the windows creates shade in the summer time reducing
heat gain from the more intense sun at that time of year.
This solar system was installed by
OSP in October, 2009 making it one of the first homes
in Ontario to take advantage of the MicroFit program.
