Our Project Portfolio
ST LAWRENCE ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK
OSP in Partnership with Arise Technologies of Kitchener Ontario
installed the first Grid Connected Solar System in a Canadian
National Park at St Lawrence Islands National Park located
in Mallory town Ontario. The system, which consists of 44 solar
panels, generates approximately 20KW of electricity a day,
enough to reduce the annual electrical costs of the parks operations
buildings by 30%.
ONTARIO POWER GENERATION
OSP was contracted to design and install a high water warning system
at 2 hydro electric dams in eastern Ontario. Solar was used because
the investment was less than installing new electrical power lines
to the remote sites. The systems utilized a 250 watt solar array
to maintain the charge in a 100 amp/hr battery bank that powered
the warning systems.
TRAVEL LODGE HOTELS
An emergency backup system was installed to provide hall and stairway
lighting in the event of a power failure. Ottawa Solar Power installed
the system 1 week before the August 2003 blackout of eastern North
America. It proved to be a major benefit that week.
FAIRMONT HOTELS
OSP designed and installed a solar power system to power remote
chalets at Fairmont’s Chateau Montebello Property in Western
Quebec. Dishwashers, HVAC system, lights and water pumps are examples
of the electrical equipment in the chalets that the 16 panel 1.7KW
solar array made power for.
RENFREW COUNTY BUS LINES
Located in Eastern Ontario, this transportation company, with over
300 vehicles in its fleet, is utilizing solar energy to compliment
its radiant floor heating system in its 7000 square foot maintenance
facility.
In partnership with the Federal Governments Renewable Energy Deployment
Initiative (REDI), R.C.B.L was able to secure a 25% grant to implement
and install the system. Using the Solar Max Solar to air heating
system R.C.B.L is able to reduce its office heating costs by as
much as 35% using renewable energies.
LANARK COUNTY STEWARDSHIP
OSP was contracted to design a solar electric system to provide
power for electric fences and agricultural water pumping systems.
Through the Ontario Governments Rural Clean Water Program, commercial
farm operations must by law keep their cattle out rivers and lakes.
This poses a challenge for watering the cattle. OSP uses solar
energy to pump water out of the river or lake to a central drinking
area for the cattle thus ensuring a clean and safe water course.
OSP has systems like this successfully working all over Eastern
Ontario. |
